Magento 2


Magento 2 in a few words:

  • jQuery instead of Prototype
  • modularity
  • customization
  • automated testing
  • better documentation
Starting with Magento 1.6 in the installation process there is a dropdown for selecting database type (only MySQL for now), but in the future RDBMS (Oracle and MS-SQL) are to be supported.
The announcement was made at Magento Developer Paradise in Ibiza
